Adaptive Climbing with NYC Adaptive Climbing Clinic ($11)

  • Brooklyn Boulders 575 Degraw St. Brooklyn, NY 11217 USA (map)

Adaptive Climbing Group is a community for people with permanent disabilities to have opportunities to inclusively participate in the sport of climbing. Adaptive Climbing is taking the already existing abilities of a person and helping them participate in the sport. The ideas of Kareemah Batts, inspired by her United States climbing experience post amputation, led to the first “NYC Adaptive Climbing Clinic” held on March 15, 2012 at Brooklyn Boulders.

NYC Adaptive Climbing Clinic
Their mission: To introduce climbing to all people with physical disabilities regardless of age. There is nothing like leaving the assisted devices behind; feel powerful, strong, and accomplish things that others believe they can not. Come to the therapy beyond the physical therapy. Day passes are half price for anyone registering under our group ($11).

If you are a person with a permanent physical disability interested in climbing, or a volunteer looking to share the experience, click this link. All volunteers and participants MUST register to climb with NYC Adaptive Climbing Clinic. Any questions please contact Kareemah Batts atinfo@adaptiveclimbinggroup.org, or by phone at (646)-389-2892.
