Outing: San Francisco Tech Council Meeting

  • NeighborNest 95 Hayes Street San Francisco, CA, 94102 United States (map)

  • Featured Speaker/Discussion: We are delighted to welcome Meals on Wheels CEO Ashley McCumber to the April meeting. Ashley's topic is More Than a Meal: Nourishing the Whole Person. MOW is well known for delivering nutritious meals to homebound seniors, but it also supports seniors through safety checks, nutrition counseling, social work visits, home safety and urgent needs, and extensive volunteer support. Following Ashley's presentation, we'll discuss takeaways from MOW's experience that might apply to addressing the digital access and literacy needs of isolated older adults and people with disabilities through the Connectivity + Initiative.
  • Internet Safety: Ahmad Sultan, a cybersecurity researcher working with Alex Banh, will present his research on internet safety issues among digitally excluded SF residents. He'll also address current and proposed efforts by the City to provide training and support.
  • Connectivity + Initiative updates, progress and successes!
