Partner: Equal Pay Day Coalition

This year’s Black Women’s Equal Pay Day is being observed on Tuesday, August 7th. On that day, at 2:00 - 3:00 pm ET/11:00 am-12:00 noon PT, Equal Pay Today and women's rights, labor and racial justice advocates nationwide will join our Social Media Storm using #BlackWomensEqualPay and #DemandMore. See www.blackwomensequalpayday.org for updates and resources (including graphics).

When compared to White, non-Hispanic men, Black/African American women earn only $.63 (cents) on the $1. This means the typical Black woman must work until August 2018 to be paid what the typical White man was paid at the end of December 2017. Learn more in our Preliminary Toolkit.

We are challenging all who support equal pay for Black women and all women to #DemandMore at work, as a consumer, and at the ballot box.

1st - Spread the word by sharing our Save the Date and Facebook event, and/or creating your own Twitter, Facebook or Instagram post using the graphics found in the Preliminary Toolkit. Scroll below for a sample of those graphics and share with your communications team. Please also forward this email to your partners to help us spread the word!
2nd -- If you are an organization, consider serving as an official co-sponsor. Join us using the Black Women's Equal Pay Day Social Media Storm Co-Sponsorship Form. (There is no financial requirement. We will add partners on a rolling basis, but we will begin sharing our list of co-sponsors tomorrow, so please be on the first list.)
3rd -- Contribute to the Toolkit by July 31st or let us know about an event you are planning. Submit via the Black Women's Equal Pay Day Event Notice & Toolkit Submissions Form (NOTE: Review the form before drafting materials so you have a sense of what we are looking for.)
4th -- Participate on Tuesday, August 7th at 2:00 - 3:00 pm ET/11:00 am-12:00 noon PT using #BlackWomensEqualPay and #DemandMore.
